Motor City Blight Busters (MCBB) has demolished over 900 blighted homes in the city of Detroit, including structures in the Brightmoor neighborhood. In partnering with MCBB, the Foundation aims to assist in making Brightmoor safer for children and families that live in the community.
MCBB works with a large number of community groups and, during the summer months, employs local youth to aid in the Brightmoor deconstruction work. In addition to blight removal, MCBB organizes a number of other programs, including: Veterans Vilalges, Farm City Detroit, and Artist Village Detroit.
Brightmoor Community Deconstruction and Restoration: This grant supports deconstruction and restoration efforts, helping to purchase equipment, and assisting with youth employment efforts during the summer months.
