The Foundation is proud to support Yad Ezra, Michigan’s only kosher food pantry, through the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Giving Gardens featuring the Geri Lester Greenhouse. This special program will allow families to obtain fresh produce, herbs and flowers during their visits to the pantry. The indoor/outdoor space will also be used as a community learning lab that will host extensive educational opportunities.

Our Trustees were joined by Yad Ezra staff and board members to break ground on the site, expanding the campus of the pantry initially established some 26 years ago. The new garden and greenhouse space will fill an essential void of fresh, healthy produce for pantry clients. More than 1,300 families (or 3,000 individuals) are served by Yad Ezra every month.

Volunteers are always welcome in the Giving Gardens and are an essential component of the organization’s work: more than 125 dedicate volunteer supplement Yad Ezra’s staff of 6.
