Birthright Israel Foundation
Birthright Israel began with a bold idea—offering a free, life-changing trip to Israel to young Jewish adults between the ages of 18 and 26 and, in doing so, transforming the Jewish future. The organization’s mission is to give every Jewish young adult around the world, especially the unaffiliated, the opportunity to visit Israel. Today, Birthright Israel is the largest educational tourism organization in the world. In North America, the Birthright Israel Foundation raises the necessary funds thanks to 30,000+ donors each year, to ensure that Birthright Israel remains a gift to young Jewish adults for years to come. More than 45,000 young adults participated in 2016, and more than 500,000 have taken a Birthright trip since 1990.
PROJECT AWARDED
Taglit-Birthright Israel Trip: This grant provides general operating support that helps Birthright send 18-26 year olds to Israel in an immersive 10-day trip to connect young Jews to their heritage and cement their relationship to their country.
