College For Creative Studies

The College for Creative Studies (CCS) is a private, fully accredited college of art and design with nearly 1,400 students from around the world enrolled pursuing Bachelor of Fine Arts or Master of Fine Arts degrees. In January of 2001, in order to strengthen its ability to serve the community, CCS established the Community Arts Partnerships (CAP) office, which focuses on creating and supporting collaborative art education initiatives serving K-12 students within Detroit neighborhoods. In 2008, CAP founded community+public arts:DETROIT, (CP AD) to foster development in Detroit neighborhoods through community-based public arts projects and events.

Brightmoor Neighborhood Arts: This grant provided support to sustain professional arts programming from CCS in the Brightmoor community, including a full slate of arts activities from elementary through high school; provides continuing employment for Brightmoor youth as interns in the arts; continues the development of public arts and events, and expands arts program collaboration.
