Community Foundation for Palm Beach & Martin Counties

The Community Foundation is the lead philanthropic funder in Palm Beach and Martin Counties, supporting and partnering with exceptional nonprofit organizations that address the most pressing needs and bring positive change to our communities. The Community Foundation makes charitable giving easy by connecting donors with opportunities that are meaningful to them and by working with financial advisors to make their clients’ charitable giving simple, efficient and effective.

PROJECT AWARDED

In 2018 the Fisher Foundation’s Arts & Culture Committee approved the establishment of a donor advised fund (DAF) with the Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, to explore grant partnerships that align with the Arts & Culture grant strategy.

Organization Amount Received Description
Ann Norton Sculpture Garden $50,000/12 months (renewal) Art & Healthy Hearts in the Gardens: Children create & display art inspired by a famed artist while exploring the unique gardens and learning about the nutritional benefits of fruits & vegetables.
For the Children $27,500/12 months (renewal) Multicultural Arts Program: Visual & non-visual arts programs for children ages 5-12 in the areas of dance, music, drama, horticulture & STEAM, twice/week for 1.5 hours. This grant also supports field trips & monthly parent/child interactive activities.
The Kravis Center $32,049/12 months (renewal) Broadway Reach Arts Education Project: Provides intensive, sequential arts education workshops to 100 youth enrolled in under-resourced programs in Palm Beach County culminating in their attendance at a live Broadway performance & interaction with professional performers.
Milagro Foundation, Inc. $50,000/12 months (renewal) Dramatic Arts Program: An expansion of classes & training that focus on all aspects of theater arts including theater history, acting, movement, voice & speech, directing, theater management, play writing, costumes, makeup, & technical design for youth in grades K-5.
South Florida Science

Center & Aquarium

$50,000/12 months (renewal) Pint Size Science-Growing Up Great with STEAM: Provides intense training for pre-school teacher through day-long workshops.  The workshops are followed by classroom visits throughout the year that include story time, a thematic science activity, free play & the receipt of a kit that contains durable art & science equipment.
Norton Museum of Art $50,000/12 months Norton Museum of Art School Partnerships: Three partnership programs with 5 Palm Beach County public schools will bring in-depth visual arts programs, curator visits, museum visits and community celebrations.  The grant will also support student creation & exhibition of original artwork expired by the museum’s collections.
Palm Beach Symphony $50,000/12 months Nurturing Notes: Pairs Palm Beach Symphony musicians with Creative Arts Therapies of the Palm Beaches to work with children receiving medical treatment & their families.
