The Federation’s mandate is to initiate, to coordinate and to preserve activities, which strengthen Jewish life locally, in Israel and throughout the world. The Federation was formed in 1986 when the Jewish Community Council and the United Jewish Appeal of Washtenaw County merged. Partnership 2000 is a global platform connecting some 550 communities around the world in 45 partnerships.
