The Shul, located in West Bloomfield, features both a synagogue and Family Center and offers a robust variety of religious services and community-centric programs. The organization’s mission is to unite Jews and develop a sense of community without labels and regardless of affiliation. The Shul is part of a worldwide Chabad network, but is financially independent and relies on local donors and its own earned income initiatives. The Shul seeks to foster a welcoming and inclusive community, with members from a number of local synagogues and a large number of members who have never been formally affiliated with Jewish life.
Judaism Without Borders: Funding for The Shul will support the group’s “Judaism Without Borders” program, which brings hands-on activities to sites such as grocery stores and malls to engage a wide number of children and raise awareness of The Shul’s important work.
