The Empowerment Plan
The Empowerment Plan was founded by Veronika Scott, who developed the sleeping bag/coat hybrid during a class at the College for Creative Studies. Ms. Scott was deeply motivated to mass-produce the coat through her experiences working with the homeless population, both in shelters and on the street. Each coat costs approximately $100 to produce, and The Empowerment Plan has a goal of distributing 6,500 coats this year.

The Empowerment Fund: This grant supports a crucial part of the organization’s commitment to providing long-term stability to its employees by assisting its employees with essential needs and helps keep them off the streets.
