Nearly three weeks ago Brianna Suarez shared the news with us she is moving to Newark, NJ to take on a new challenge.  While we are sad to see her go, and our region will not be the same without her, we are so grateful for all she contributed to and led alongside our partners.  The following is a note from Brianna:

Over the past three years I have had the opportunity to focus on equity and inclusion in the Arts & Culture landscape and oversee an initiative based on building the capacity of cultural institutions and local leaders. Working for the Fisher Foundation provided me with the platform to continue my professional development and contribute to a network of change makers in the city. As a native Detroiter, I could not have asked for a better experience.

At this time, I am now choosing to move onward in my career. Friday June 7 will be my last day at the Foundation office. I have accepted a position with the Victoria Foundation in Newark, NJ. In this new role I will be able to take all that I have learned from the Fisher Foundation and Detroit community leaders and focus on creating and implementing a racial equity grantmaking strategy.

I have a true appreciation for your commitment to Detroit and all your work with communities that suffer from structural oppression & isolation. I am so grateful that you have allowed me to learn from you.

If you have any questions about an existing or potential grant via our Arts & Culture impact area, please feel free to fill out a letter of inquiry, send a note to info@mmfisher.org or call the office at 248.415.1444.
